Supporting Nehirim

Nehirim: GLBT Jewish Culture and Spirituality is an independent, grass roots organization under the fiscal sponsorship of the Jewish Funds for Justice. We are extremely grateful to our individual supporters, and the generosity of the Charles & Lynn Schusterman Family Foundation, the Walter & Elise Haas Fund, and the JCC of Manhattan, for enabling us to create authentic spiritual community for gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgendered Jews. Most of all, we are grateful to our many volunteers: our teachers work for well below their usual pay scale, and our retreats are made possible by Nehirim community members who donate their time and talents in a number of ways.

Donations to Nehirim are fully tax-deductible, and go entirely to the activities of the organization, minus an 8% administrative fee charged by our fiscal sponsor. To support our work online using your major credit card, click here to be taken to the Jewish Funds for Justice Page at Network for Good. Be sure to enter "Nehirim" in the space marked 'Designation.'

You may also donate by check, made out to Jewish Funds for Justice, and sent to them at:
330 Seventh Ave, Suite 1401
New York, NY 10001
Again, please be sure to write "Nehirim" on the memo line so your donation is routed appropriately.

Individual donations have a very real impact. For $180, you can enable a student or someone in need of financial assistance to attend a Nehirim retreat. For $90, you can sponsor a monthly mailing (please email any dedication information to info@nehirim.org). And for $36, you can sponsor a meeting of Ma'agal, the Nehirim Jewish Womens Group. Smaller amounts also help us with our ongoing administrative costs. Any amount helps, and we thank you in advance for your generosity.
