Nehirim is a national community of LGBT Jews, partners, and allies, committed to a more just and inclusive world. Our participants work on a variety of LGBT issues, ranging from LGBT youth homelessness to transgender equity to marriage equality and more. In 2011 and 2012, Nehirim is cosponsoring our founder Jay Michaelson’s book tour in support of God vs. Gay? The Religious Case for Equality. Jay will be criss-crossing the country bringing the book’s message of inclusion and respect to over fifty communities around the country. These events have already brought more people in contact with Nehirim than in our previous seven years of existence, and have touched over one thousand individuals.
